Stainless closed-end tubes for temperature sensors, one end drawn closed with a smooth dome. Closed-end tubes are the protective body of the probe; the seamless dome keeps moisture and media away from the element.
Function and Design
Most of the difficulty in a closed-end tube is invisible: wall consistency, concentricity, burr control. The closed-end tube is checked against the drawing at each stage, not only at final inspection.
Key Features
- The closed end is formed, not welded – a smooth radius with no heat-affected zone to corrode or crack.
- The stainless surface of the closed-end tube is the finish – nothing to chip in washdown or humid service.
- Batches are held consistent by first-article verification and in-run sampling.
- Material: For the closed-end tube we default to stainless steel (304 / 316); the grade is locked before tooling starts.
- Process: deep drawing of the closed-end tube followed by CNC finishing on critical faces.
- Finish: The closed-end tube is finished per print – passivation, plating and coating are all run in house or by audited partners.
- Size: Size per customer drawing.
- Custom: Custom production of the closed-end tube to print, MOQ set by the drawing rather than a catalogue.
Where It Is Used
In service you will find this part in thermowells for pipes and tanks, HVAC and refrigeration sensors, NTC and PT100 probe assemblies.
Factory-Direct Advantage
Sealing faces are machined and checked, because a housing that leaks fails the whole instrument. Any deviation on a sealing face is corrected at the machine, not after plating.
