Steel Deep Drawn Flange Plate with Center Hub

Steel Deep Drawn Flange Plate with Center Hub
Steel Deep Drawn Flange Plate with Center Hub

A steel flange plate with center hub, drawn so the hub rises from the plate with controlled height. The hub acts as a bearing seat or spigot, and the flange distributes bolt load – geometry that would need a lathe if machined, done here in one press stroke.

Function and Design

Flange plate work is unforgiving: a few hundredths in the wrong place and the assembly will not go together. That is why the flange plate is inspected between operations, not only at the end.

Key Features

  • Forming the flange in the shell removes the separate collar and its weld.
  • Flange plate batches are first-article verified, then sampled in production.
  • Trial lots can be run before you commit to volume.
  • Material: carbon steel (SPCC / DC01 or to print), with mill certificate and heat-number traceability supplied with the first article.
  • Process: the flange plate is drawn in house on maintained presses, wall thickness held to the print, flange trimmed and pierced in-die.
  • Finish: Finish for the flange plate is agreed at sample stage and logged on the job card.
  • Size: Size is taken from the customer drawing; the flange plate family range gives a starting point for quotation.
  • Custom: OEM/ODM to print: the flange plate quotation includes material advice and tooling cost.

Applications

It earns its place in battery and energy-storage components, lighting reflectors and covers, automotive sensor and motor housings.

Our Production Advantage

We draw in house on maintained presses and inspect first articles on the CMM. First articles are inspected on the CMM, production is sampled against the same dimensions, and any drift stops the press.

Ask for a quotation: material options, tolerances and tooling cost are confirmed in writing.
