A dome plug with a large flange, drawn so the dome closes the bore and the flange gives a wide sealing and clamping face. Plugs like this cap tube ends and vessel openings where a flush, gasketed close is needed.
Function and Design
Dome plug work is unforgiving: a few hundredths in the wrong place and the assembly will not go together. The dome plug is produced to print, with the features that carry function inspected first.
Design Highlights
- The integral flange gives a stop face and sealing shoulder in the same pressed piece, so no separate collar is needed.
- Long runs are economical because tooling and capacity are in house.
- Everything here is made to print – the listing shows the family, your drawing sets the part.
- Material: For the dome plug we default to carbon steel (SPCC / DC01 or to print); the grade is locked before tooling starts.
- Process: the dome plug is drawn in house on maintained presses, wall thickness held to the print, flange trimmed and pierced in-die.
- Finish: Surface treatment for the dome plug is picked for its working environment, not from a catalogue.
- Size: To your print, flange diameter per print; dimensioned sketches can be advised before the dome plug is quoted.
- Custom: OEM/ODM to drawing; free samples of the dome plug and a manufacturability review before tooling.
Where It Is Used
Typical applications include electrical enclosures and junction boxes, appliance and HVAC assemblies, battery and energy-storage components.
Our Production Advantage
We draw in house on maintained presses and inspect first articles on the CMM. First articles are inspected on the CMM, production is sampled against the same dimensions, and any drift stops the press.
