Cups and vented covers from an assorted run. The vented covers show post-draw piercing placed exactly where airflow or pressure equalization is needed – a common requirement for housings over electronics and sealed enclosures.
Function and Design
Cup work is unforgiving: a few hundredths in the wrong place and the assembly will not go together. That is why the cup is inspected between operations, not only at the end.
What Makes It Work
- Vents are pierced with hard tooling after forming – clean edges, exact placement, no rework.
- Matched tooling across the set keeps every variant on the same dimensional logic.
- Every batch is sampled against the verified first article.
- Material: Material is confirmed at drawing review – steel, stainless, aluminium and brass are all stocked for cup production.
- Process: deep drawing with in-die trim and pierce on the final station for the cup, burr-free piercing on the second operation.
- Finish: No catalogue finish: the cup surface is agreed on the drawing and confirmed at sample approval.
- Size: Every dimension on the cup comes from your print – the page shows the family only.
- Custom: Send the cup drawing for a quotation with sample lead time and material options.
Where It Is Used
It earns its place in electrical enclosures and junction boxes, automotive sensor and motor housings, battery and energy-storage components.
