Aluminum Deep Drawn Dome with Center Hole

Aluminum Deep Drawn Dome with Center Hole
Aluminum Deep Drawn Dome with Center Hole

An aluminum dome with a center hole, drawn then pierced. The hole passes a stem, lens or fastener depending on the assembly, and the dome itself gives the thin aluminum real stiffness. Hole edge is deburred so seals seat cleanly.

Function and Design

A dome is the strongest thin-shell shape there is – it turns axial load into membrane stress across the wall. That is why domed ends survive pressure and impact that would dent a flat cap of the same thickness.

What Makes It Work

  • Family page only: your dome dimensions and features come from your print.
  • Repeat volumes are priced with in-house tooling and press capacity in mind.
  • Verified first article, sampled production: the second batch matches the first.
  • Material: Material is confirmed at drawing review – steel, stainless, aluminium and brass are all stocked for dome production.
  • Process: progressive deep drawing for the dome, annealed between draws to keep the grain sound, burr-free piercing on the second operation.
  • Finish: No catalogue finish: the dome surface is agreed on the drawing and confirmed at sample approval.
  • Size: Dimensions of the dome follow the customer print; specials are quoted from the drawing.
  • Custom: Custom work to print for the dome, with DFM feedback before quotation.

Where It Is Used

It earns its place in appliance and HVAC assemblies, automotive sensor and motor housings, battery and energy-storage components.

Why Source It From Aunov

We draw in house on maintained presses and inspect first articles on the CMM. First articles are inspected on the CMM, production is sampled against the same dimensions, and any drift stops the press.
