Anodized Aluminum CNC Machined U-Shaped Cover Case

Anodized Aluminum CNC Machined U-Shaped Cover Case
Anodized Aluminum CNC Machined U-Shaped Cover Case

A U-shaped anodized aluminum cover case, milled as one channel. The U-profile slides over the assembly it protects, and the anodize is available in your product color. One-piece construction removes the fasteners a two-piece cover would need.

Function and Design

U-shaped cover case work is unforgiving: a few hundredths in the wrong place and the assembly will not go together. U-shaped cover case repeatability is designed in through dedicated tooling and recorded settings.

Design Highlights

  • The anodic layer is part of the metal, hard and colourfast, unlike a painted finish.
  • Batches are held consistent by first-article verification and in-run sampling.
  • Dimensional reports, material certificates and PPAP levels are available on request.
  • Material: Grade set by the print; for u-shaped cover case work we regularly run carbon steel, 304/316 stainless, aluminium and brass.
  • Process: the u-shaped cover case is CNC machined – turning, milling and drilling in as few setups as possible.
  • Finish: For the u-shaped cover case: anodising, colour to spec, with the approved finish referenced on repeat orders.
  • Size: Size is taken from the customer drawing; the u-shaped cover case family range gives a starting point for quotation.
  • Custom: Custom u-shaped cover case builds to your drawing, with small trial lots possible before committing to volume.

Applications

Production volumes of this part run in electronic and telecom enclosures, pump and valve assemblies, instrumentation fittings.

Factory-Direct Advantage

First articles are inspected on the CMM before a batch is released. Inspection is done in a climate-controlled room, and any dimension that drifts stops the machine rather than the shipment.
