Wiper motor shell

Wiper motor shell
Wiper motor shell

Aunov Tech manufactures the Wiper motor shell in stainless steel on a single production floor. On the product, the wiper motor housing carries the wiper motor internals and locates the output gear. Die work, machining and CMM inspection are all in-house, so first-article dimensions hold through volume batches with no third party in the loop.

Product overview

What defines this metal shell is, draw depth, wall band and the surfaces that forming cannot hold, recorded on the inspection report for every batch.

The whole route from die to finished metal shell stays in house, so feasibility questions are answered on the shop floor, and the approved sample is kept as the master.

How it is manufactured

Production of this metal shell is locked to one route: Drawing runs from flat blank to finished envelope in one controlled sequence; secondary machining holds the seats, threads and faces that forming cannot produce.

Batch records are filed against the part number, and that record is what every reorder is built from.

Materials and finishing

Our stock list runs to SPCC / DC01 carbon steel, 304 / 316 stainless, aluminium, brass, copper and bronze with carbon steel or stainless specified on the drawing for this metal shell.

The coating is matched to the working environment: polishing, zinc / nickel / chrome plating, anodising or powder coating. The agreed finish for this metal shell travels with the part number on every reorder.

Each shipment is verified against the master sample, and material certificates are kept per batch.

Quality control

An ISO 9001 certified system governs production: stock arrivals are checked against mill certificates, the CMM measures the first article dimension by dimension, and run inspections follow an agreed sampling plan. At wiper motor housing level, output-shaft bore runout is checked on every first article, and seal seats are gauged for burr-free assembly. Functional testing – torque, leak or pressure – can be written into the plan, with certificates included in the shipment file.

Applications

This metal shell is used in vehicle and under-bonnet assemblies in both OEM and aftermarket supply.

This metal shell is supplied to several positions in the same machine, so wall bands and finishes are selected to cover the widest duty, without a second tooling round.
