An aluminum enclosure with a threaded boss inserted after drawing. The boss gives a strong metal thread in a light aluminum shell – common for mounting PCBs or glands. We stake or press the boss so it stays put under vibration.
Function and Design
Enclosure work is unforgiving: a few hundredths in the wrong place and the assembly will not go together. That is why the enclosure is inspected between operations, not only at the end.
What Makes It Work
- Thread depth and form are checked, so the joint takes the load it was designed for.
- Every enclosure batch is sampled against the verified first article.
- Inspection records and material certs can be supplied with each shipment.
- Material: No fixed grade – the drawing governs; stock covers steel, stainless, aluminium and brass for enclosure work.
- Process: the enclosure is deep drawn, then deburred and finished on the second operation, thread turning to gauge.
- Finish: Finish for the enclosure is agreed at sample stage and logged on the job card.
- Size: Overall size to customer drawing.
- Custom: OEM/ODM to print: the enclosure quotation includes material advice and tooling cost.
Applications
Typical applications include automotive sensor and motor housings, appliance and HVAC assemblies, electrical enclosures and junction boxes.
Factory-Direct Advantage
Drawing and annealing windows are set from the drawing, not from habit. Tears, thinning and rim condition are checked at the press, not discovered at assembly.
