Aunov Tech manufactures the Hydroformed Aluminum Cover in aluminum on a single production floor. In operation, the drawn housing encloses the sensitive internals and carries the mounting interface. Forming and machining share equipment, staff and batch records, keeping first-article quality through scheduled runs under one roof.

Product overview

The specification of this aluminium cover turns on, the draw ratio, corner radii and the faces that must stay flat, checked by CMM at first article and by gauge in production.

Die building, pressing and machining for this aluminium cover are all in house, so feasibility questions are answered on the shop floor, with the tooling history retained in house.

How it is manufactured

This is how the aluminium cover is built: A welded preform is expanded in the hydroforming press; ends are trimmed and pierced, then the part is annealed and finished.

Each shipment is traceable to the signed first article, and the same setup is reused on the next call-off.

Materials and finishing

Base materials in stock: carbon steel SPCC / DC01, 304 and 316 stainless, aluminium, brass and copper and this aluminium cover runs in aluminium.

Finish selection follows the working environment: electrophoresis, powder coating, anodising and zinc / nickel plating. The choice is recorded on the drawing for this aluminium cover, so the decision never has to be made twice.

Material certificates and dimensional reports are available on request.

Quality control

Production runs under an ISO 9001 certified quality system: material traceability starts with mill certificates, a full CMM report approves the first article, and routine sampling keeps batches aligned with the first article. Seal face finish and cavity depth are measured on the curved saddle mounting first article. Torque, leak and pressure tests are available where the assembly needs them, and the inspection report ships with each batch.

Applications

The aluminium cover is specified into industrial and appliance assemblies for customers who buy to drawing.

This aluminium cover is supplied to several positions in the same machine, so the finish is chosen to cover the harshest of them, without a second tooling round.

Customization and options

What customers usually vary

The parts of the print for this aluminium cover that get adjusted: material grade, coating, wall bands, flange form and end closure, and whether orders run as prototypes, pilot lots or scheduled batches.

The quotation for this aluminium cover is explicit about what the die already covers, so the cost of a change is visible before you commit. The curved saddle mounting quote is the contract where tooling is concerned; nothing is assumed.

DesigningQuotation is built from the drawing: DFM notes come back with the price rather than after tooling.
ToolingDies, fixtures and gauges are made in our own toolroom, so the die charge appears as its own quotation line, and ownership is confirmed on the quotation.
SamplesProduction does not start until the sample report has been signed off.
Materials1050 / 3003 / 5052 / 6061 aluminium, 0.5-3.0 mm stock – temper matched to the forming depth or machining route of this cover.
Surface finishPlating, powder coating, anodising or polishing, per the print; finish thickness and adhesion checked on the first article.
ProcessingCoil-fed stamping, deburred and finished to the print; in-process checks sit between stages, not only at the end.
EquipmentMechanical presses 5-250 T, in-press forming and piercing, with CNC turning centres for secondary operations and CMM inspection.
Tolerance+/-0.03 mm on pierced holes, +/-0.1 mm on formed sections; critical dimensions carry CMM data with the shipment.

Packaging and delivery

Packaging protects the finished surfaces of this aluminium cover: the coating decides whether parts are interleaved, bagged or tray-packed, then sealed cartons are palletised for export, with documents and marks to your instruction.
