Wiper motor cover

Wiper motor cover
Wiper motor cover

Aunov Tech builds this Wiper motor cover in stainless steel, from coil or bar through to the finished surfaces. In service, the wiper motor housing protects the motor windings while the output shaft takes the wipe load. One production floor covers forming, finishing and inspection, so first-article dimensions hold through volume batches without re-quoting the job elsewhere.

Product overview

What matters most on this metal cover is, draw depth, wall band and the surfaces that forming cannot hold, checked by CMM at first article and by gauge in production.

Toolroom, presses and machining centres used on this metal cover operate on the same site, so a drawing change is absorbed in one step, with the tooling history retained in house.

How it is manufactured

Manufacturing runs on a controlled process path: The drawn envelope is produced in stages with anneals between them; after drawing, critical faces are machined and the part is degreased and gauged.

Every order keeps its trace back to the approved first article, and a reorder is a repeat, not a new start.

Materials and finishing

The standard stock list carries SPCC / DC01 carbon steel, 304 / 316 stainless, aluminium, brass, copper and bronze and this metal cover is costed in carbon steel or stainless.

The finish is chosen for the environment the part sees: zinc, nickel or chrome plating, anodising, powder coating, electrophoresis and passivation. The agreed finish for this metal cover travels with the part number on every reorder.

Production is compared with the approved sample every run, with mill certificates filed per heat.

Quality control

An ISO 9001 certified system governs production: material traceability starts with mill certificates, a full CMM report approves the first article, and later batches follow the sampling plan agreed at approval. On the wiper motor housing itself, output-shaft bore runout is checked on every first article, and seal seats are gauged for burr-free assembly. Functional testing – torque, leak or pressure – can be written into the plan, with certificates included in the shipment file.

Applications

This metal cover normally works inside vehicle and under-bonnet assemblies across automotive, appliance and industrial programmes.

The same metal cover is often run in more than one assembly, so one tooling set serves every position, and no re-tooling is needed.

DesigningSend drawings, or send a sample to be measured – a manufacturability review comes back with the quotation; the same drawing is used for every repeat order.
ToolingOur toolroom covers die design, wire-cut EDM and maintenance, so no tooling step is outsourced, and maintenance is tracked against the part number.
SamplesPre-production samples come with a full inspection report, so the sample is retained as the master, and later batches are gauged back to the signed sample.
MaterialsCarbon steel (SPCC / DC01), 304 / 316 stainless, aluminium, brass and copper – the grade is matched to the duty of this cover.
Surface finishZinc or nickel plating for corrosion, plus powder coating or electrophoresis on housings; laser etching on request.
ProcessingBlanking, multi-stage deep drawing with interstage annealing, trimming and piercing, coining, then finishing.
EquipmentMechanical presses from 5 to 250 T, hydraulic presses 250-500 T, annealing ovens, plus CNC turning and machining centres.
Tolerance+/-0.15 mm typical on formed parts, +/-0.3 mm on large covers; the die decides the achievable band.
Delivery termsCIF or DDP, with FOB available, payment by T/T or L/C, quoted in USD or EUR; price breaks tie to annual volume.

Also known as: wiper motor shields — same part, same tooling, only the drawing reference differs.
