Large Aluminum CNC Machined Threaded Cylinder Sleeve

Large Aluminum CNC Machined Threaded Cylinder Sleeve
Large Aluminum CNC Machined Threaded Cylinder Sleeve

A large aluminum threaded cylinder sleeve, machined from tube stock. Internal and external threads are cut in one setup for alignment, and the wall is bored thin but even. Large sleeves like this are where rigid CNC lathes earn their keep.

Function and Design

Most of the difficulty in a large threaded cylinder is invisible: wall consistency, concentricity, burr control. That is why the large threaded cylinder is inspected between operations, not only at the end.

What Makes It Work

  • Torque-bearing threads are gauged on every piece, not sampled.
  • In-house tooling keeps volume pricing competitive on repeat orders.
  • Start small: trial quantities are available before volume commitment.
  • Material: Grade set by the print; for large threaded cylinder work we regularly run carbon steel, 304/316 stainless, aluminium and brass.
  • Process: turn-mill machining: the large threaded cylinder is turned, then cross-drilled and milled to print, thread turning to gauge.
  • Finish: For the large threaded cylinder, surface is natural as standard; zinc, nickel, chrome and e-coat are quoted to the print.
  • Size: Final dimensions of the large threaded cylinder to your drawing; this page shows the family, your version is quoted from the print.
  • Custom: Custom work to print for the large threaded cylinder, with DFM feedback before quotation.

Applications

In service you will find this part in electronic and telecom enclosures, automation and robotics hardware, instrumentation fittings.

Factory-Direct Advantage

We machine in house on maintained turning and milling centres. First articles on the CMM, production sampled against the same dimensions, and dimensional reports with material certs where PPAP levels are required.
