Aluminum cylinders closed with a threaded ring cap – the body is drawn, the ring is machined and the two assemble with a twist. This lets one end of the shell open for service access while keeping the drawn body’s advantages: no seams, consistent ID, light weight.
Function and Design
A cap’s whole job is a clean, controlled close – of a tube, a port or an assembly. Drawn caps close with a formed dome or radius rather than a flat crimp, which is why they do not crack or leak the way cheap stamped closures do.
What Makes It Work
- Threads are machined and gauge-checked on every piece, so make-up torque lands in the joint, not in the thread.
- Batches are held consistent by first-article verification and in-run sampling.
- Material certificates and dimensional reports are available on request.
- Material: Grade set by the print; for cylinder work we regularly run carbon steel, 304/316 stainless, aluminium and brass.
- Process: the cylinder is drawn in house on maintained presses, wall thickness held to the print, thread turning to gauge.
- Finish: No catalogue finish: the cylinder surface is agreed on the drawing and confirmed at sample approval.
- Size: To your print; dimensioned sketches can be advised before the cylinder is quoted.
- Custom: Custom cylinder builds to your drawing, with small trial lots possible before committing to volume.
Where It Is Used
In service you will find this part in automotive sensor and motor housings, lighting reflectors and covers, appliance and HVAC assemblies.
Factory-Direct Advantage
Blank size, lubrication and die condition are logged per run. Blank size, lubrication and die condition are logged per run, so when your tenth order matches the first it is not a coincidence.
Send over the cylinder print – quotation, material advice and sample timing come back together.
