Aunov Tech manufactures the Auto starter motor casing in stainless steel on a single production floor. On the product, the starter motor housing houses the armature and carries the drive-end bearing. Forming and machining share equipment, staff and batch records, so repeat orders stay aligned with the approved sample under one roof.
Product overview
The drawing for this metal casing fixes, the draw ratio, corner radii and the faces that must stay flat, recorded on the inspection report for every batch.
Die building, pressing and machining for this metal casing are all in house, so a drawing change is absorbed in one step, with process data archived for repeat orders.
How it is manufactured
Every metal casing follows the same routed path: The shell starts as coil or blank and is drawn through single and progressive dies; secondary machining holds the seats, threads and faces that forming cannot produce.
Process settings are archived with the part number, and the same setup is reused on the next call-off.
Materials and finishing
The standard stock list carries carbon steel SPCC / DC01, 304 and 316 stainless, aluminium, brass and copper and this metal casing runs in carbon steel or stainless.
The coating is matched to the working environment: polishing, plating in zinc, nickel or chrome, anodising, powder coating, electrophoresis and passivation. Once approved, the finish for this metal casing is fixed and does not get re-decided.
Each shipment is verified against the master sample, so neither material nor finish drifts between lots.
Quality control and inspection
Production runs under an ISO 9001 certified quality system: certificates verify each incoming batch of material, the CMM measures the first article dimension by dimension, and every production run is inspected against the first-article report. At starter motor housing level, bore-to-pilot concentricity is measured on a CMM at first article, and every run is gauged for flange flatness. Functional testing – torque, leak or pressure – can be written into the plan, and results travel with the batch paperwork.
Applications
The metal casing sits in vehicle and under-bonnet assemblies in both OEM and aftermarket supply.
One drawing for this metal casing is commonly applied to several programmes, so the specification is set by the toughest of them, and the die does not have to change.
Specifications
| Item | Auto starter motor casing |
|---|---|
| Brand | AUNOV |
| Designing | Made to your 2D/3D drawings (PDF, DWG, STEP, IGS) – unusual walls, threads or tolerances are feasibility-checked first; changes are priced before they are made. |
| Tooling | Die design and toolmaking stay in house, so a die can be re-cut against the approved drawing, and maintenance is tracked against the part number. |
| Samples | Samples are issued for approval before the run, so the sample is retained as the master, and later batches are gauged back to the signed sample. |
| Materials | Stock covers carbon steel, 304 / 316 stainless, aluminium and brass; the final grade is fixed with the drawing review. |
| Surface finish | Phosphating for coating adhesion, then powder coating, e-coating or zinc plating; chrome and nickel for visible faces. |
| Processing | Blanking, multi-stage deep drawing with interstage annealing, trimming and piercing, coining, then finishing. |
| Equipment | 5-250 T mechanical presses and 250-500 T hydraulic presses, in-line annealing furnace, CNC turning for secondary work. |
| Tolerance | +/-0.05 mm to +/-0.1 mm across the part; tighter bands confirmed against the die before the quotation is fixed. |
| Delivery terms | CIF or DDP, with FOB available, payment by T/T, L/C at sight or D/P; repeat orders reuse the approved first article. |
