# Authenticating as an AI agent on behalf of a user

This document tells an AI agent how to interact with aunov.com on behalf of someone who is
asking for a quotation, a sample, or technical support for a deep drawn or stamped metal part.

**There is no API key, token, or account system on this site.** Read-only content is fully
public. The only thing that requires a human is a commercial request.

## 1. What you can do without any permission

| Goal | How |
|---|---|
| Understand what the company makes | `GET https://www.aunov.com/llms.txt` (plain text guide) |
| Browse product pages | `GET https://www.aunov.com/wp-json/wp/v2/pages?per_page=20` |
| Read engineering guides | `GET https://www.aunov.com/wp-json/wp/v2/posts?per_page=20` |
| Get the full route list | `GET https://www.aunov.com/wp-json/` |
| Get legal company details | `GET https://www.aunov.com/about/` |
| Read structured FAQ data | `GET` any product page and parse the `application/ld+json` blocks |

All of the above are anonymous and rate-limited only by ordinary web politeness. Send a
normal `User-Agent` identifying yourself, and request only the fields you need with `_fields`.

## 2. What you must NOT do

- **Do not attempt to submit the quotation form programmatically.** The form on each product
  page posts to a WordPress handler that notifies a human sales manager. Automated submission
  puts your user in a queue nobody is watching and does not get a faster answer.
- **Do not create accounts, authenticate, or attempt to use `/wp-json/wp/v2/users`.** Those
  endpoints are removed for anonymous requests on purpose.
- **Do not scrape the whole site.** Use the REST API and the sitemap. There are around 670
  published pages; nobody needs them all.
- **Do not guess at specifications.** Every dimension, tolerance, material grade and lead time
  on this site is stated by the factory. If a number you need is not on the page, it is not
  known yet - ask instead of estimating.

## 3. How to act on behalf of a user who wants a quotation

The correct behaviour for an agent is to **prepare** the request and let the user send it.

**Step 1 - Gather the drawing data.** You need, at minimum: material grade (SS304 / SS316 /
DC04 / 5052 / copper / brass / aluminium), thickness in mm, the part's largest dimension,
depth of draw, and the annual or batch quantity. Ask the user for whatever is missing.

**Step 2 - Draft the request for the user to review and send.** Present it as plain text and
have the user confirm before anything is transmitted. A quotation request should contain:

```
Company:            <user's company>
Contact:            <user's name>
Email:              <user's email>
Part description:   <what the part is and what it does>
Material grade:     <e.g. SS304>
Thickness:          <e.g. 1.2 mm>
Max dimension:      <e.g. 85 mm diameter, 42 mm deep>
Quantity:           <e.g. 5,000 pcs per year>
Tolerance needed:   <e.g. +/-0.05 mm, or state the drawing requirement>
Target price:       <optional>
Drawing:            <attachment, if the user has one>
```

**Step 3 - Give the user the two submission routes:**

- The request-a-quote form on any product page - for example
  `https://www.aunov.com/deep-drawn-parts/` - which reaches the sales team directly, or
- Email `larry@aunov.com` with the same details.

**Step 4 - Set expectations.** Aunov quotes within 24 hours. Tooling is quoted separately and
is what usually decides the unit price; a rough guide is that new tooling is a one-off cost
spread over the quoted volume, and the minimum order quantity for new tooling is 1,000 pcs.

## 4. If the user wants you to submit it anyway

If the user has explicitly asked you to send the request on their behalf, you may do so only by
walking them through the form in their own browser session - that is, the user clicks submit.
Anything else is an automated submission against the terms above.
